History

Uniform Express was founded in 1993 as a home based business. The focus, both historically as currently, remains the manufacturing, sourcing and distribution of quality attire for the hospitality, healthcare and EMS markets. (scrubs, chef coats, lab coats, stethoscopes, pen lights, pocket liners, scissors, EMS pants, shirts, duty belts)

In 1993, driven by product demand, Uniform Express moved to a commercial space on Fort William Road in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It was in this location that a retail outlet was opened. A regional, mobile sales campaign was established to distribute quality merchandise to Northern Ontario Hospitals and extended care facilities.

In 1999, under the guidance of apparel engineer Michel Beaudet, Uniform Express adopted a stand up modular production system. Product delivery speed was enhanced and quality was maintained.

A larger facility was acquired for Uniform Express in 2002 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. A marketing consultant was hired and the direct selling program was activated to bring the product line to more customers.

2007 finds Uniform Express meeting price competitiveness via domestic manufacturing, off shore sourcing and enhanced distribution.
